When a Jewish boy turns 13 or a Jewish girl turns 12, they celebrate their Bar or Bat Mitzvah by reading from the Torah. When my friend and her brother turned 12/13 in the same year, they had what's called a B'nai Mitzvah, celebrating their milestones together. In honour of their event, they had a theme of Tikun Olam, translated from Hebrew as "Repairing the World". Each table at the party represented a different charity and information about each charity was provided on the tables for guests. They decided that the kids' tables would be represented by SickKids so they asked that I make bracelets for all of the kids at the table. As a result, I created a special design in honour of their special occasion. So the "B'nai Mitzvah" pattern was born! I hope that all of their guests enjoyed their new bracelets and I wish a big Mazel Tov (congratulations) to the family!
